I am a theatre professional, having studied English Literature for my BA. I work as a director and actor, and teach both. Understanding literature from a performance perspective has enriched my academic understanding of English. I am also proficient in the humanities and humanities teaching. In addition to this, I am a proficient linguist (I speak fluent German with a good knowledge of other European languages).

Tutoring Experience

I am a Cambridge certified EFL tutor and have considerable of experience of teaching. Since my qualification, I have been teaching classes of 10-14, from ages of 10 to 65. I also recently qualified as a Chekhov technique teacher, learning that specific style of teaching too.

In addition, I recently have worked in India with theatre companies, developing teaching systems that use art, theatre and music as a method of education. I also have taught using active learning in school around Austria and Germany.

Tutoring Approach

I find that the teacher's job is to create a love of learning in the pupil. I find so many subjects deeply interesting and in teaching I try to pass this on to my pupils. To do this, I always try to get to know my students, so that I can structure lessons and the course in a way which engages them specifically. In my lessons I create a nurturing and inspiring environment, with the proper support, in which the learner can build their confidence and progress through finding an aspect of a subject that excites them.
