Hello! My name is Lauren and I am currently studying a BA Primary Education degree with a mathematics specialism at the University of Reading! I have always had a passion for teaching and inspiring children to have confidence in the classroom. I would describe myself as friendly, energetic, fun, committed and most of all passionate! I have studied maths throughout my whole life, always pushing myself to achieve my best at GCSE, A-Level and in my degree. I feel I will be able to help any student who wants to get better. I have great knowledge of different teaching approaches to make each tutoring session unique and personalised to a child’s needs! I hope to boost every child’s confidence and get them to where they want to be!

Tutoring Experience

I am currently doing a primary education with mathematics degree, so I have been working in the classroom and teaching children for multiple years now. I also already have a pre-teaching qualification and have tutored for different companies for the past 2 years.

Tutoring Approach

In order to prepare appropriately for lessons, all goals for future sessions will be discussed in the first meeting. This ensures that I can make appropriate resources that are appropriate and engaging for each child, and each experience is personalised and tailored to their needs. The sessions will involve a quick warm up/starter which would recap what was covered in the previous session to ensure that topic has been mastered, before moving onto a new topic. The sessions are very pupil focused, which means that students feel comfortable and free to ask any questions they like.
