Hi I'm Laura and I am an enthusiastic and fun fully qualified Primary school teacher with nearly 8 years of recent teaching experience. Education is my passion and I am starting up a tutoring business which allows under-privileged children access to tutoring support for free. In my free time I love to be outdoors be that for a long walk, kayaking or playing football.
I have been a qualified teacher since 2016 which has included five years as a full-time class teacher and two as a supply teacher. I have experience with working with children from 5-11. Previous to gaining QTS I worked as a teaching assistant in a private school as well a taught swimming for three years to children from 3-16. I have undertaken a course in children and young people's mental health to enable me to more effectively support children's self esteem and mental wellbeing as well as their academics. I have also had training in ASD, Adhd, PDA, Dyslexia and many other learning needs.
I believe that the best learning is done is when a child feels safe, supported and most importantly is enjoying themselves! I have worked with children with a variety of needs and abilities and believe in a personalised 1:1 programme with each student that suits their needs. On initial consultation I like to find out as much as I an about the student and plan their support accordingly.
