I am a part-time tutor and current civil servant working in London. I hold a first-class masters degree from the University of Exeter, having read law. I studied law as my bachelor's as well, which included a year abroad at Bocconi University in Milan, as part of the Erasmus scheme. I love reading and enjoy creative writing in my spare time! I am British-Italian, being born in Milan but raised in Cambridge my whole life. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have a lot of experience in the welfare and safeguarding of children and teenagers, having previously worked at an English language summer school (Studio Cambridge) for 3 consecutive years.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently tutoring English to a group of Year 6 primary students on Tuesday mornings in preparation for their upcoming SATs. I can tutor students between the ages of 9 and 16 and can offer support with preparations for GCSEs as well. I am happy to tutor with my own lesson plans or work from what you / the student is currently learning at school (though I will need access to this in advance). I will generally focus on English Language but am more than happy to also tutor English Literature or a mix of both if this is what you’re looking for!

Tutoring Approach

I take a calm, warm and focussed approach to tutoring. I act as a source of guidance and support, encouraging students to try reaching answers themselves first, instead of automatically deferring to me. Generally, the first tutoring session will be more of a friendly introduction and a chance for me to understand what kind of support you are looking for and what literacy level you are working at. Unfortunately, I only tutor online at the moment and can’t do in-person visits. My hours are somewhat flexible but generally, I will be able to tutor between 8.00-9.00 am, and after 5.00 pm on weekdays. I will occasionally be able to tutor on weekend mornings.
