I am 19 years old and have just finished my A level's which were English Literature, Chemistry and Maths. I am wanting to pursue an engineering career and have decided to study Chemical Engineering at UCL.
From a young age, I have taught Gujarati to children aged 7 and above at my local temple. These children were of all abilities which required me to teach differently to accommodate each student. I have also taught sports such as netball to younger children on the weekend which was similar to teaching Gujarati as each student was of different abilities.
I believe an active approach is the best way to engage with a student and necessary for information to be absorbed. Additionally, I find preparation before a lesson easier for students who want to build upon a particular area or topic as their revision becomes more precise. This is why I believe students need to understand what areas they are struggling in for me to prepare the lesson as precisely as possible for the session to be effective. For younger students engagement with content is fundamental as this will provide the foundation for their education as they grow up.
