Hia! I'm Kimberley, i'm a 26-year-old developer who loves to crochet and maths and all things that link to it. Maths wasn't always my strong point. Back at school, around year 9, I found it realy tricky. But thanks to an amazing tutor, I passed my exam with an A* and now can't get enough of it! They set me on the path that I'm on now and I’d like to do the same for someone else who is struggling.
I have supported students through GCSE Maths exams and have successfully increased the grades of 100% of my students. I also teach adults to code (in JavaScript) and in my spare time run crochet workshops.
I'm calm and have been described as very approachable. I break topics down into manageable chunks and work out how best the pupil understands things. Being dyslexic myself I understand the importance of learning styles. I look at where the student is now and where we want to get to. Most of the marks in maths exams come from the written working out, so I install a "this is how you show your thinking" ethos as early as possible. Together we will work through textbook exercises as well as past exam questions and I will teach how to use the mark schemes to our advantage.
