I am an Oxford graduate with over twenty years' teaching experience. I can help you to improve your French, whether you are a beginner, adult learner, studying for GCSE or A level, or are preparing for Oxbridge entry tests. I also teach English language and literature to GCSE, and English literature to A level. I will show you how to express yourself clearly and with confidence when writing creatively or commenting on poetry or prose. At the moment I am only offering lessons over the internet. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
I taught full time in secondary education from 1996 to 2011 and since then have been tutoring French and English privately alongside a career in copy-editing. As a tutor, I have taught both French and English to GCSE and A level, and French to Oxbridge entrance, as well as helping younger pupils and adult learners who were not preparing for a qualification.
One-to-one lessons provide the opportunity to focus on areas of particular concern or interest. I am keen, therefore, to make sure that pupils explain what aspects of French or English they would like to cover so that sessions can be tailored to their specific needs. Lessons are interactive and supported by appropriate notes/study materials. Where required, homework can be set to promote continuity.
