I am a kind, caring, and patient tutor with a passionate belief that every child has the right to succeed, regardless of their individual needs or starting point. I am reliable and as flexible as possible when needed, with availability from the beginning of June 2025 (daytime and evening).
Having worked as an English teacher and KS4 Coordinator in secondary schools from 2008 - 2024, I have extensive knowledge of the KS3 and 4 curriculum and have considerable experience working with students across a broad spectrum of abilities, including those with specific needs.
Since 2017, I have also provided one-to-one tutoring, offering personalised support to help learners achieve their individual goals.
I have substantial experience of a range of exam boards: AQA GCSE, Cambridge IGCSE, Edexcel GCSE, Edexcel IGCSE and Eduqas GCSE.
As an English teacher, my approach is centred on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. I believe in building a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking, while also encouraging confidence in reading, writing, and speaking.
Lessons are interactive and adaptive, combining structured practice with real-world applications to make learning relevant and enjoyable. My approach is grounded in empathy and high expectations, ensuring that each student feels supported, valued, and capable of growth. I take the time to understand each learner’s unique strengths and challenges, creating a safe and encouraging space where they can build confidence and develop a love for learning.
