I am an experienced tutor and qualified TEFL teacher providing support to students of all ages preparing for exams in English Language, English Literature and History, as well as those looking to improve their general essay writing skills in any subject - from primary school to undergraduate level. With my EFL background, I also provide support to non-native English speakers looking to improve their language skills, whether for specific contexts or in preparation for IELTS. In my spare time, I'm a keen runner, mountaineer and adventurer - and I also play the fiddle for fun too!

Tutoring Experience

Having worked in education for the past seven years, I worked with children and young people in a variety of capacities - from outdoor instructing to community projects. In my final year of University, I specialised in pedagogical theory whilst training as an EFL teacher, and have been supporting students, both native and non-native speakers, ever since.

Alongside tutoring, I currently work part time in the NGO sector as an advocate, campaigner and writer, and this not only keeps my knowledge and skills up to date, but allows me to draw on real world experience in my tutoring to make learning more engaging and relevant to my students.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that ensuring children and young people feel supported throughout their academic journeys is essential to them achieving to the best of their abilities. I have a student led approach, working with my students to understand their individual needs and tailoring my approach to ensure that they reach their full potential. Working online allows me to provide maximum flexibility and availability to best support students in all stages of their learning, and I have a proven track record of success; all of my students have gone on to achieve their goals, be it target exam results, outcomes in degree coursework or improvements in English language proficiency and confidence.
