I am a dedicated Maths Tutor, working online using interactive lessons, with all age groups up to GCSE level. Whether students are aiming to boost their grade, build confidence or achieve a target, I plan lessons by establishing needs first then designing lesson to achieve the target results. I adapt resources to meet the students individual requirements, focusing on boosting confidence and knowledge as well as establishing good working habits, independent learning and exam strategies. I have worked with students who have a variety of learning difficulties, adapting lessons according to each student and their individual learning needs.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked at a local College for several years, teaching GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths level 1 and 2 to post 16 students. I also work with a number of private and home-schooled students from KS3 to KS5 which I have been doing for many years. I run revision sessions and support exam paper completion with small groups. I am conversant with AQA, Edexcel and iGCSE exam boards as well as having worked with a number of KS2 students studying for their entrance exams. I have taught Maths at a number of secondary schools including Stamford Endowed School and Stamford College.

Tutoring Approach

My strengths lie in designing structured, tailored and differentiated Maths lessons for students. I believe in encouraging a positive and focused learning environment for each student to be able to reach their learning targets. I have strong links with local schools and keep up to date with syllabus changes. I continually develop inspirational and interesting resources for students and encourage independent learning and clear exam strategies through motivation and setting achievable short-term targets. We set up a message group to allow students to communicate easily, sending details of problem topics whilst allowing parents to monitor progress without having to get too involved. Lessons are online using an interactive whiteboard on Zoom.
