I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience teaching German at both private and state schools, most recently at a highly selective girls Grammar School. Prior to my 20 years as a German teacher, I worked in international business for several years and I have a strong grasp of business German. As a GCSE and A-level teacher I consistently achieved outstanding results with an impressive Value Added. Since becoming self-employed, in addition to tutoring, I have been an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and an Examiner for a national examination board. I have experience tutoring students for a wide variety of exam boards and have helped tutees to achieve the highest grades.
My tutoring experience includes adult learning as well as secondary school students preparing for their GCSE, IB and A-level examinations.

Tutoring Experience

September 2016 to present: Personal German Tutor and Associate German Lecturer at ARU; GCSE German oral Examiner.
August 2001 to August 2016: Chelmsford County High School for Girls Teacher of German. Outstanding results at GCSE, A Level and IB.
March 1998- July 2001: Supply Teaching in Chelmsford and Private Tuition (GCSE, A Level and Business German).
September 1994 to March 1998: St. Martin's School Brentwood. Teacher of German and French.

Tutoring Approach

I adopt a personalised approach according to my students' needs. I can build students' confidence with grammar and written German as well as preparing them for the GCSE, A Level or IB examinations. I am very competent at preparing students for the oral examination and will focus on whatever aspect of German my student wants.

For casual learners I prepare a tailor-made course.
