In my free time I like to spend it with my family going for walks with our labrador. I am creative and enjoy doing art. I also can incorporate art and art therapy into my lessons.
I am a fully qualified primary teacher. I have my full G.T.C. Registration and PVG. I enjoy doing tutoring as I find it a rewarding job. I have worked as a full time nursery teacher. I also have worked as a full time primary teacher. Currently I am tutoring from home and also a supply teacher too.
I have a vast amount of teaching experience in a range of schools. I have worked as a full time nursery teacher for a few years. I also taught full time for five years as an infant teacher. Currently I tutor from home and am on the supply list for East Dunbartonshire council.
Since studying at Edinburgh University / Moray House and gaining my postgraduate certificate in Support for Learning at Masters level I am qualified to teach Support for Learning throughout primary and sevondary.

I recently did a Practitioner Enquiry where I did research on how art can or cannot help pupils improve their language skills. My research proved that Art can help pupils improve a range of skills in language and other areas such as confidence and even improve other academic areas.
I enjoy teaching pupils in this way and have always found my job rewarding.
I am an extremely caring and genuine person who takes a great amount of time to ensure my lessons are right for my pupils. The main thing in my lessons is that my pupils are happy, then they can learn. I aim to help all pupils make good progress and develop skills which they can keep for in their lives ahead.
I enjoy helping my pupils think about other areas that they can explore such as relaxation techniques, art therapy and enjoyment of music. The expressive arts can help pupils develop skills in areas such as confidence, positive self esteem and inner happiness. Pupils need these skills to help them focus and concentrate so that they are able to learn.
I use positive behaviour approaches. I have a calm and quiet approach and always ensure that my pupils are happy. I use multi sensory teaching strategies. I have done a postgraduate in support for learning and know a lot of good strategies to help pupils with specific learning difficulties. Recently I did a practitioner enquiry where I did research on how art can help children develop their skills in language and other learning areas.
