I am a Early Years Montessori Teacher and a Specialist Physical Education Teacher.
I have been lucky enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and am well aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My own passion for working with young children extends from my desire to emulate these role models and perform the same inspirational function in the lives of my students.
I have always enjoyed being around young children and have supplemented my interests in primary teaching over the last 15 years. Teaching across the curriculum in a Private School has highlighted my passion to support young children one to one to achieve their very best.
I aim to create a fun learning environment to bring out the creativity, responsibility and confidence in each child. I believe that confidence and a high self esteem are key to a bright mind and a bright future. At primary level, I subsequently focus on building up self belief and motivation to allow each student to reach their potential and personal objectives. I enjoy showing young people that learning can be a great adventure and allows us to explore exciting new worlds. I use a variety of methods to make lessons interactive and multi-sensory based on the personality and learning capacity of the child. I break up lessons with word games, flash cards and other visual aids to enhance learning and keep motivation levels high.
