I have been teaching for 15 years around the Manchester area and have recently moved to Lincolnshire.
I have an excellent track record of achievement and have previously been Second in Dept. I have a good rapport with students, encouraging and building confidence. I have experience as an examiner, and have a good understanding of misconceptions that students can fall into.
15 years in Secondary schools around Manchester, Bury, Bolton. Including being Second in Dept and working at a referral unit for a year. Biggest achievements: 19 A* Stats class in one year and Getting a pupil predicted an E through to a C.
Encouraging and motivational. Sometimes obscure depending on student, such as little rhymes or visual aids that help remember. I try to relate to real life occasions wherever possible such as Surface area and volume of a Frustum being a Ben & Jerry factory wanting to work out how many containers needed for volume of ice cream. Working in construction when using pythagoras (3,4,5 rule) and how hairdressers need ratio and an understanding of measurements etc. Too much to possibly write here. A mix of Visual and Kinesthetic.
