Have a MSc and B.A. (Hons) in Geography. I specialise in teaching the AQA and Edexcel syllabii. Am currently an Edexcel examinations marker for Geography and as someone who physically marks the actual papers, I believe I have a very good understanding of constitutes as an excellent answer and more importantly, how to help my pupil achieve that level. If there is anything Covid has taught us, it is that the unexpected has the ability to throw the best laid plans out of the window and that we must find a way to cope and even thrive despite this happening to us sometimes so my aim will be to help you do that should you be one of the students who is looking to resit their exams, for example.

There are many approaches to tackling essay questions for example and I can help you with the structure which I think helps provides the most succinct and comprehensive answer. I will help you increase not just your knowledge base but also ensure you have all the needed examination skills in terms of time management and essay writing to help you go for gold so don't be surprised when this gets reflected in your grades! If you are willing to work I will support you every step of the way so as to greatly boost your chances of getting into a good Uni! Happy to also help with NEA/coursework as that seems to be a concern for many but I promise you, I'll show you that it's easier than you currently think! :)

I am currently offering online lessons but also very happy to host you in my home as I have found that face-to-face lessons are really rather effective as that enables me to draw diagrams, mark your work on the spot and facilitate the lesson much more easily. The choice is yours though :) Please note that due to my schedule I am currently only able to tutor at home and hence students need to travel to me or for me to do online lessons via Teams. I am based about a 7 minute walk from Arnos Grove tube station or New Southgate train station in North London.

Very happy to also help students prepare for University interviews as i regularly chair interview panels. Costs may differ from my hourly rate so please feel free to get in touch and discuss your requirements.

Tutoring Approach

As a parent myself, I can fully appreciate the anxiety some parents must feel in the run up to the exams so I will keep you in the loop regularly as to your child's progress. I do this by assessing in which area the student needs help in most and then take it from there. We will then progress to cover the entire syllabus before your exam so be prepared for some intense lessons! . I can be as hands on or hands off in terms of guidance and will work with my student to ensure that they feel supported and confident by the time the exams come around.

I will help students with not just content but also exam technique and how best to prepare for the upcoming exams from now right up to the day itself. Needless to say doing practice questions on a regular basis will certainly be part of this agenda. :)
