I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with first-class honours in English Literature - as part of which I studied a broad range of poetry, prose and drama. From Beowulf to Game of Thrones; Jane Eyre to Fleabag; Hamlet to Harry Potter, and many more in between, I have had the chance to read some of the greatest works in the language…and certainly some of the longest!

As an aspiring writer and investigative journalist, I have a keen interest in areas aside from literature. At A Level I also studied Politics, History and German. Meanwhile, at university I was heavily involved in a number of drama societies; writing and directing several comedy plays, acting in (far too many) student-written film parodies, and performing as part of an improv troupe at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

In my final year I was required to complete a 12,000 word dissertation during the COVID-19 lockdown, so I am very familiar with the uncertainty, stress and frustration many students are feeling at the moment. Studying in the current climate can be pretty disheartening, and as a tutor I hope I will be able to provide some motivation, as well as advice, as you prepare for your exams.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently tutoring English Literature for GCSE pupils on another platform. While at secondary school, I organized A Level revision sessions with some friends for students in our English, Politics and History classes. I also briefly spent time mentoring younger students in German.

Tutoring Approach

As someone who has recently finished studying I am all too familiar with the process of studying and revising during lockdown. I aim to make subjects accessible, engaging, and fun!
