Hello, I’m a fully qualified Primary Teacher looking to support students under 12 with their learning at home. I graduated from the Univeristy of Aberdeen with a first-class honours degree in Education and have been working as a primary school teacher within Aberdeen City for the past six years.
I am patient, enthusiastic and solution-focussed in my approach to working with students and am keen to support them to build confidence and make connections with various aspects of their learning.
Throughout my teaching career I have worked with learners of all ages and have delivered the curriculum from pre-early to fourth level (Scottish Curriculum). Currently, I work with learners with complex additional support needs.
I have previously supported students with numeracy and literacy through weekly tutoring sessions. Seeing their progress and confidence build is very rewarding.
As a tutor, my first priority would be to establish the specific areas which require support by speaking openly with you and your child about where they are in their learning. Initial assessments may also be used to establish a starting point for lesson inputs.
1:1 tutoring sessions would be tailored to the individual needs of the student, in consultation with parents/carers. Support can be given for maths and numeracy, reading, writing, spelling or phonics. I am happy to plan activities and lessons to target key areas of learning or provide support with homework or anything else your child may already be working on.
