Formerly the Head of Maths at an elite and highly academic London independent secondary school (from 2017-2021), with 13 years teaching experience at that same school (2009-2022). I have a First Class Degree in Mathematics from Oxford University.

Tutoring Experience

I am a Qualified Teacher with 13 year's teaching experience at an elite selective independent day school in North London, including 4 years as Head of Mathematics.

I know the GCSE/IGCSE courses inside out, as well as the A level Maths and Further Maths courses. I have taught and tutored students working towards MAT, TMUA, STEP and AEA for many years, a great number of whom have made their offer to study Mathematics or other STEM subjects at Oxford, Cambridge and other excellent universities.

Tutoring Approach

As a classroom teacher, I believe in the importance of pupils discovering mathematics for themselves, and that the role of the teacher is as much about asking (the right) questions as it is in answering them. This philosophy extends into my tuition, where students will be working (at least) as hard as I am. This approach is extremely effective at widening and deepening your understanding of Mathematics, while equipping you swiftly with the skills to solve increasingly difficult problems independently.

I have the experience and skill to be entirely flexible within a session, being able to respond to difficult mathematical questions as they arise, even at the challenging standard of Further Mathematics A level and preparation for university entrance papers such as STEP, MAT TMUA or AEA.

My fees reflect my considerable experience as both a teacher and in my own mathematics.
