I studied Geography at the University of Exeter and subsequently completed my Teacher Training (PGCE) at the University of Bristol.
Since then I have taught Geography across both independent and state schools, as well as holding various pastoral and academic positions including Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator, Head of House, Head of Department and Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator.
I am passionate about the world around us and understanding the interplay between human cultures and systems and the natural world. I have loved travelling and experiencing various parts of the world including hitchhiking from South Africa to Uganda as an 18 year old, travelling through Australia and New Zealand, exploring Mongolia and China, a fascinating trip to Syria before the civil war had broken out, organising and running a school trip to Ethiopia as well as various family trips to Europe and the USA. In the future, I look forward to being able to visit South America, India and Pacific Islands.

I have extensive knowledge of exam requirements and have developed tried and tested techniques to support student success at all levels, especially GCSE and A Level.
In particular I focus on revision and retention skills as well as exam technique for essay/long form questions.
I aim to not only inspire students to excel in their studies but also to foster a genuine curiosity in the world around them to become engaged lifelong learners.

I work with students to encourage curiosity and engagement with the world around them and to equip them with the tools to succeed in exam conditions whilst also fostering a love of learning.
