Tutoring Experience

I have worked as a private tutor mainly for KS3 and A - Level. I have also worked extensively in science communication; teaching science afterschool clubs, working doing academic note-taking/study skills advising for university students, delivering in-school workshops on science and performing chemistry demonstration assemblies (exploding baloons of hydrogen and the like).

Tutoring Approach

I center the needs of each individual student, evaluating the areas most at need of attention and cultivating a collaborative approach to best address them.

I apply evidenced based practice to my teaching, and keep in step with fresh research on effective learning techniques. I know and love chemistry well, so prefer to keep within my field of expertise when teaching, and find this allows me to bring the enthusiasm i have for the subject into me lessons.

I value the engagement of parents and carers in the process of tuition, and aim to keep them apace with the progress of their child through our lessons.
