Currently head of department at a prestigious independant school in south Wales. With 15 years of experience in the classroom. I would consider myself a friendly and patient individual who is never dismissive when it comes to students asking questions. I am prepared to tailor my lessons and teaching style to the needs of each individual student.
I have a long track record of proven success.
15 years of teaching GCSE and Alevel. To all ages and abilities. Within the state and private sector. 10 year tutoring experience, both in person and online.
I am committed to planning lessons that make the most of the time we have and are tailored to suit the student's needs. Lessons are varied, I like to use several techniques including revising content, short quizzes and exam questions, but can adapt which of these, and how much of each, makes up a lesson to suit the student's learning style. In my opinion, there are no wrong answers, just useful mistakes! These are vital for progression in a subject so I encourage students to give everything a go. I aim to do a short quiz or an exam question at the beginning of a session, covering what was taught in the last, to ensure knowledge has been retained and offer an opportunity to ask any questions before starting the next topic.
