I am multilingual, speaking French, Italian, German, Russian and Spanish, my principal area of expertise and experience being French language, literature, history and culture. I am returning to my first career (and first love) as a tutor, after a long interim career as a City lawyer. I am also happy teaching Italian.
I taught French (and EFL mostly to French people) in one-to-one tuition for eight years, 1987-1995. I taught French to all ages and levels, from 11-year-olds to undergraduate level, but most of the teaching was A level. From 1996-2021, I was a City lawyer (advising on competition/procurement law and trade sanctions). I have a one-page CV which I am happy to send to anyone.
As an experienced tutor and commercial lawyer, I am a practised communicator and my approach to teaching is based on flexibility, preparation and my keenness to communicate my interest in language to others. I have already devised many of my own materials (multiple-choice tests, grammatical explanations, vocabulary lists etc) suitable for all levels, but am happy tailoring any course to the student's needs/materials at any level.
