I was a Science and Physics teacher at a secondary school in Sunderland. I taught combined and separate sciences at KS3 and KS4/GCSE and A level physics.

I have taught in schools in the UK and overseas.

I have a BSc in Astrophysics from Edinburgh University and did my PGCE in science teaching at Oxford University.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for over 7 years and have experience teaching students aged 11-18.

Tutoring Approach

I take a very student centred approach to tutoring. I like to identify areas students may have misconceptions in and work to address these first as this helps with overall understanding. I try to link the concepts being taught to real-world examples to help students understand the different concepts better.

For exam year students we work a lot on exam techniques and doing practice exam questions.
