I am a friendly 19 year old student currently studying Statistics at The University of Nottingham. I achieved results of A*, A and A at A-level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry, respectively. Being around over the summer and term time means I can commit to all students, whilst being flexible timewise!

Tutoring Experience

As part of preparing myself for this challenge, I have helped younger students as part of a community enrichment scheme at my school. This involved helping develop their English and maths skills which is key to their next academic steps. I would put aside some time each week with a particular student to work on areas they were struggling with and the results over the year made me want to help others in this situation.

Tutoring Approach

• By allowing my students to inform me of weak areas or gaps in their knowledge in a course, I can then plan the right lessons for them, and cater to their individual needs

• I like to do this by the use of colour and lively examples where appropriate

• Building a strong relationship where the student is comfortable to ask for any help is how I approach for the best results

• Having been through many exam periods recently, I provide first hand tips in exam preparation from methods I have found useful when revising, to how to prepare mentally

• I am a firm believer that different methods work for different students, so I am always open minded and ready to take on board any feedback from my students
