I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember, and nothing makes me happier than sharing that passion with others. For over 8 years, I’ve taught students of all ages, with every one of my GCSE learners achieving grades 7–9 and A-Level students earning A*–A. I teach all areas of art – from textiles and 3D work to graphic design, to name just a few – and tailor lessons to suit each learner. With a warm, supportive approach and a recent additional qualification in understanding students with special needs, I’m here to help every student thrive creatively.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified practicing art and design teacher and head of subject. I have been teaching students in school settings for 8 years and I have been privately tutoring students for 4 years.

Tutoring Approach

I tend to start tutoring off with an introduction session where I will go through a range of skills based tasks to see where students are at and find out a bit about your interests. Future sessions will then be tailored to each individual.
For example if you love Manga you can bet our next session we are going have a full on illustration lesson learning how to create a self portrait in the style of Manga illustration.
Older students can rely on the fact that I will support you through your coursework and exam prep checking for any gaps in your sketchbooks and ensuring those skills are filled. I am familiar with both AQA and edexcel.
I will be constantly checking you are meeting all the assessment objectives and tailor our sessions accordingly. I.e if I feel you are low on experimentation I will plan a session to explore photography, painting and collage all in one session!
My number one priority is ensuring students gain skills that they can use later either in lessons with their school teachers or in their spare time I strive to inspire independence and have a few giggles together a long the way.
