Since finishing my master's degree I have worked for some of the biggest companies in the UK. My first corporate position after university was a role as an Infrastructure business analyst for a subsidiary of Lloyds bank where I liaised between the financial and technological infrastructure teams. From there I became an actuarial analyst (pensions financial mathematician) for the largest business process outsourcing and professional services company in the united kingdom. I later migrated my career to financial investment consulting. Now I work as a Technical Specialist/Assistant Business Expert for the biggest technology company in the world and use all the technical skills I've amassed to help drive the businesses growth.
Despite finishing two heavily mathematical degrees I have not always been a great mathematician. Throughout studying at school and university I learnt to develop unique methods of studying bespoke to my needs. I taught and shared these techniques with other students while working as a student learning assistant. In this role I tutored second and first year undergraduates in mathematics, business, economics, statistics and similar disciplines. As a tutor, my goal was to not just get my students to pass their exams but to truly understand the related topics.
My teaching style is designed to be flexible and malleable to my student's needs. No two people are the same and I've found that quite often if a student requires tutelage, they usually just haven't discovered the right study method for them. As a result, I'm always sure to spend ample time helping my students decern how study, in addition to the subject in question.
