I am passionate about education and helping people to learn new skills.
I am a qualified (UKCP registered) psychotherapist and I appreciate that many people have been traumatised by their experiences with maths. I am keen to help people develop a new relationship with maths and build confidence in their abilities and potential. On occasions, I have been referred to as a maths therapist. In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing and whitewater kayaking.
I have been helping both adults and children with maths and numeracy for the last 14 years. I specialise in working with people with maths anxieties or dyscaculia type difficulties or people who simply haven’t got on well with school or the way they have experienced maths so far. I’m very happy to work with school refusers and those educated outside the regular school system for any reason.
My approach is creative, patient, sensitive and respectful. We all learn differently and my job is to discover the ways of learning that work for each individual pupil.
I work with adults and children over 11 years. No prior experience or ability necessary. The only requirement is to be keen to improve.
