I have a PhD in Medical Sciences which I completed after studying a BSc in Biology. By day I am a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of Oxford, working to further our understanding of diseases. Previous experience includes working in academia and industry.
I have tutored students successfully in Sciences and Mathematics for several years.
I enjoy helping others to learn and engaging students in their subject. I have found the tutoring experience to be rewarding for everyone involved.
I give Oxford College tutorials, supervise students, and present my research at local and international meetings. I was awarded a SEDA supporting learning award in 2017.
Being involved in Science Outreach has enhanced my experience of the different ways people learn, and ways to engage people into studying science.
I break things up into manageable chunks as there is nothing worse than being overwhelmed by the tasks ahead.
Each session will have clear aims to reach which we can discuss in the first session, and we can explore teaching styles to suit the best way you learn. I am happy to help anyone who wants to learn.
