My name is Jenna and I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher from Renfrewshire. I initially completed a BA Honours degree in History at the University of Strathclyde in 2019, then returned to complete my PDGE in Primary Education, graduating in 2021.
Working as a primary teacher, I have experience supporting students of all ages and stages following the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. I worked as a Primary 4 teacher in Renfrewshire where I completed my probationary year in 2022, then worked as a Year 2 teacher in an international school in Thailand. I am well-versed in supporting students with diverse needs and varying levels of abilities.
Additionally, I am experienced in teaching students with English as an Additional Language (EAL). I have taught English lessons for students both in the classroom when working in Asia and as a virtual EAL teacher online.
I am an enthusiastic and approachable teacher who strives to create a warm and open learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. Building positive relationships with students is very important to me and I place emphasis on positive reinforcement. I customise my teaching to each students’ learning style using an array of resources, while helping to develop their confidence in the targeted subject area.
