I’m a passionate and fully qualified primary school teacher (QTS) with 15+ years of teaching experience, offering online tuition in Maths and English in order to build confidence and self-esteem. Available daytimes and evenings. Online only.
I offer bespoke 1-to-1 online tuition. I create personalised sessions to support students in their learning, or add a little extra challenge where needed, with interactive and engaging tuition to boost their confidence and begin to plug any gaps in their knowledge.
I have an Enhanced DBS certificate and I am registered with the update service which keeps my certificate up-to-date.
I am available to tutor KS1-3 maths and English online during the daytime and evenings. I am also happy to teach older learners with gaps in those curriculum areas.
I trained for 4 years at York St. John University. My degree subject specialisms are English and Literacy, but I also love to teach maths. I have led English and maths Y6 SATS booster sessions, as well as having taught across years 3-6. I also have 5 years of experience of leading English in my last school. I taught in primary schools for 12 years.
Since leaving teaching and setting up my own tutoring business in October 2020, I have completed a 120-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course, as well as many other professional development courses and training sessions. I’m passionate about lifelong learning.
I love tutoring online. I’m able to directly address any problems/misconceptions due to having instant access to all of my resources and favourite teaching games/websites. I’m able to make an instant impact with learners, which is so rewarding for me as well as being enjoyable for them. Lessons taking place online in our own homes enables both myself and the learner to feel at ease in our surroundings and helps us to quickly develop our relationship.
My first ‘getting to know you’ session is free. In this session, I will find out more information about you and your child. I will carry out short, informal assessment tasks with them so that we can discover the initial areas that we will work on together. I love to play games to make the sessions fun and interactive so that they don’t feel like ‘traditional learning’. I have both tutored and taught many students with SEND, including those with autism, ADHD and dyslexia, amongst others.
