Online Craft and Design Lessons

I am a practicing artist, furthering my works through travel, gathering inspiration from different cultures and experiences. I graduated in 2019 with a First Class BA Honours degree in Textile Design from Chelsea Collage of Arts UAL. Specialising in screen printing, I work with this medium, exploring, experimenting and inventing new techniques and processes in an alchemic fashion.

I involve creativity in all aspects of my life and actively inspire others to expand their creative practice in a fearless manner. For the last 5 years I have worked independently, managing and running a variety of different sessions with students of all ages, in and outside of schools. I am constantly developing new ways to keep my students engaged and producing unique outcomes. Getting full marks in my degree displays my full understanding of the syllabus, and I now want to offer this knowledge to my students, by teaching how to process and develop work with clear communication.

Tutoring Experience

As a practicing artist I have experienced many perspectives of the industry and have placed my works in different contexts and countries, from the remote jungles of Mexico to more highbrow institutions in Italy. I spent 2 years as a studio technician and workshop coordinator at 3rd Rail Print Space in London, building my expertise and teaching others alongside. I was an informal educator for IntoArt, working on a creative print project with a group of students with disabilities. Other experience includes being a guest lecturer at The University of Arts London for over 120 students, a private tutor, a personal mentor and an informal art educator with a co-created art collective called Triptych, running online and in-class sessions for GCSE and A-Level students.

In the past year I have had a solo-exhibition in Tuscany after completing a Residency at Villa Lena Residence. Along with other works exhibited in various art collectives around London and Internationally.

Currently, I am working in the south of Bolivia helping create an artist residency to bring diverse creatives to the region and run workshops to help integrate the local community.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to get to know the students, their process, blockages and what they wish to get out of their Art course. Through understanding the needs of the students I am able to guide them to help them get as much out of their creativity and vision as possible, recommending avenues that best suit them and will keep them engaged in their concepts and projects. My understanding of the syllabus allows me to guide my students to achieve top marks as well as producing work that they feel proud off and inspired by.

I focus on process, to help the idea evolve from start to finish,. Exploring different literal and lateral techniques and perspectives, whilst advocating experimenting with a variety of mediums, so the student can best use their time building their own visual identity.
