Im an undergraduate studying Comparative Literature at UCL (Moving into my final year this September). With plans to satay on at UCL to study Classics with ancient Greek and Latin at Masters level.

I have always loved for the arts ,both in and beyond the classroom environment, being an avid music lover and passionate advocate for people to read the literary classics (particularly the key works that survive to us from ancient Greece and Rome). In my spare time,I am a writer (writing both music as well as several stage plays and poetry)

Tutoring Experience

I got my start as independent tutor teaching Classics, History, English and Music over the Summer Holidays.

Meanwhile whilst at school, I arranged and was involved in running lunch time sessions providing tutoring and revision classes for both my school's Classic's and English departments. Often putting together my own powerpoint presentations for these lessons.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is one which tailors itself to the particular needs of the student. This is not say there are no constant principles underpinning my approach but rather it is this flexibility which not only helps me adapt the lessons to needs of the student.

But furthermore, it enables me to focus upon a means of teaching which prioritises understanding of the content over simply memorisation (a key distinction for myself).

From my experience students who understand the material not only does their retention of the material improve but more importantly they are able apply their knowledge properly as and when its required.

Furthermore, I firmly believe past paper and example question practice is the best way for a student to progress with the consolidation of their learning as well as their preparation for the exam environment itself.
