Private Maths Tutor in Leamington Spa

Hey there! I am a maths teacher in training, and I have been working on completing my PGCE with Warwick University. I am currently on break from my PGCE course, and I am working as a substitute teacher and tutor, with plans to return to my training in January 2026. I do tutoring online and in person around Leamington Spa.

Tutoring Experience

I have studied maths up to University level, and I like to think I have a good understanding of it as a subject. I have also worked in Secondary schools around Leamington as a maths teacher, and as such I am well versed in the national curriculum and in different teaching methodologies. I have received consistently positive feedback on my teaching, and have been praised for my ability to explain complicated mathematical concepts, and to build a positive, respectful learning environment.

I have worked with students with a range of ages and abilities, from helping students with their foundational numeracy to helping A-level students achieve top grades. I am especially experienced in working with neurodivergent learners, and other students who may find school challenging.

Tutoring Approach

I like to take a pupil-centred approach, focusing on the areas where the pupil feels less confident and delivering material in a way that is most suited to the individual I'm working with. I am trained in a variety of different teaching methodologies, and I strive to find the approach that is best suited to each different situation.

Some people will have specific areas they want to focus on, but for people looking for more general assistance I like to use diagnostic tests to identify where they feel more confident and where they're struggling, and design my lessons to focus on areas where they feel a bit less confident. I also make sure to regularly recap previous material, to ensure learners are able to remember it long-term.
