James

Online Law and Entrance Exams Tuition

Hi! I'm James, a first-class Oxford law graduate. I'm offering tutoring for A Level Law, law personal statements, LNAT, oxbridge law interviews and general essay advice.

I achieved a high first-class in my degree, winning prizes for the best performance in Contract Law, and second-best aggregate performance across the four compulsory private law modules (Tort, Contract, Land and Trusts). I scored 9 marks above average in the LNAT multiple choice, and having recently completed the law admissions process I have a detailed knowledge of what Universities look for in the personal statement, LNAT essay and at interview. Succeeding in the Oxbridge admissions process myself, I can provide tailored advice to ensure that applicants provide unique applications that distinguish them from their peers.
I offer tutoring for:
- A Level and GCSE Law
- LNAT MCQ and Essay
- UCAS Personal Statements
- Law interviews (including Oxbridge)
- Essay writing structure, grammar and writing style
- Proof reading and review for essays, coursework, and dissertations.

Tutoring Experience

I have much tutoring experience across the UCAS/Oxbridge law application process. Specifically: LNAT MCQ and essay sections, personal statement advice, and interview preparation and mocks

I also have an up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of the law itself, having completed my degree in July 2023. I am also very experienced in essay writing and can assist in essay technique across any subjects (university work, schoolwork, A-Levels, GCSE etc.).

I began tutoring whilst in sixth form, volunteering to assist students struggling at GCSE level. Since then I have mainly focussed on the law admissions process, providing 1-on-1 sessions going over LNAT practice tests, reviewing LNAT essays and personal statements, and providing mock interviews.

I can provide excellent tutoring on A-Level Law, building upon knowledge acquired in my degree to allow students to develop upon the ideas taught in textbooks, stretch the syllabus and set themselves apart from the rest of the cohort.

I also have extensive experience reviewing law firm applications, providing written feedback and 1-on-1 sessions advising on content, approach to set questions, structure and style.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring style is specifically tailored to each student's individual needs, increasing grades/likelihood of application success. I offer 1-2 hour sessions, and will provide resources and review work/applications. Beyond this, I am also committed to helping my students develop transferable skills that can be applied both in and out of academia.

My sessions reflect that students respond and learn through different means. I typically find that in relation to essays and personal statements, students benefit from talking through previously written work, with both verbal and written feedback provided. I also provide walkthroughs of MCQs and essay questions, to explain the reasoning process and what the question is getting at.
