Hi there, I'm Jim. Father of two delightful children, husband to an amazing woman! I am a passionate, engaging and highly-experienced Science teacher, with 20 years experience in the classroom, and almost 20 years experience on private tuition on the side. I am a keen guitar player, road cyclist, and cook! I enjoy most spending time with my family, keeping fit and enjoying the great outdoors.
PGCE in Secondary Science - completed in 2004
Teaching full time in two large state schools ever since, one in Kent, the second in Oxfordshire. I still teach and love the classroom.
Fun and contextual.
Gentle introductions and analysis of current strengths and areas of weakness.
Use of PowerPoint, online animations, Youtube and interactive whiteboards.
Lots of exam practise and effective, targeted homework tasks set and checked between each session. All about closing gaps, building confidence and fine-tuning exam performance, whilst having fun at the same time!
