I am currently a Computer Science Student at the University of Birmingham.
Growing up, I have always enjoyed Mathematics and Science, achieving all A/A* grades at GCSE and also excelling at A-Level.
Due to my academic success, I started getting approached by family and friends about tutoring their children, although I had no experience in tutoring, I accepted their offer.
Fast forward a few years, I have tutored many students of all ages and abilities and gained a wealth of experience in tutoring. I have received very positive feedback from my students and their parents. Along the way I have learnt that every student is different and needs a tailored path to achieve their potential.
I have experience teaching students from Primary Schools all the way to A-Levels. I have been tutoring for nearly 3 years and can adapt my teaching to my students.
Mastery is key and can only be achieved through practice.
Firstly, I identify a students weak areas.
Then I would teach the student key concepts in the area they struggle in and show them examples of how they can tackle questions.
Finally, I would then allow the student to attempt questions themselves and hand-hold them until they can successfully solve questions independently.
I would repeat this until the student is comfortable in all aspects of a subject to a reasonable high degree, thus allowing them to achieve mastery in their subject area and ultimately achieve amazing grades in their exams.
This lean process minimises time being wasted on areas the student already understands and allows an efficient use of my time, saving the student money and allowing the student to excel in a subject in the shortest time possible.
