My name is Jahura, and I am a second year medical student, studying at the University of Manchester. I loved the sciences when I was at school, achieving 9s in biology and chemistry, and an 8 in physics. I took biology and chemistry forwards as A Levels, and achieved an A* in biology, and an A in chemistry. I feel confident in teaching all sciences up to GCSE level, and biology to A Level standard. Just for this year, I am only offering chemistry to AS level.
I used to mentor students when I was at school, volunteering my time mainly for the Classics department to teach Latin. In addition to this I have tutored many of my friends and family, preparing them before various GCSEs and A Levels. I am also a tutor for the TutorTrust, and feel confident in applying my skills to teaching the sciences to the relevant level needed.
A typical lesson will be an hour long, starting off with a short starter to review content covered in the previous session. Next, content will be taught in an interactive and engaging manner, with questions asked frequently to gauge understanding. Following this, we will work through a few exam questions together, before the final activity of reviewing what we have learnt.
