I tutor students of all ages and abilities in English Language and Literature, including KS3, GCSE/IGCSE, A level (Literature only), IB, and in the workplace.
I prepare students for written and oral examinations, interviews and UCAS. I have substantial experience working with all examination boards.

Tutoring Experience

I am both an English Language and English Literature teacher. I have over twenty five years' experience of teaching in mixed Comprehensive Schools and was Deputy Head teacher at a major Comprehensive. I have been a private tutor now for over ten years and have assisted over 300 students of all ages and abilities.

Tutoring Approach

I thoroughly enjoy working alongside students and have the knowledge and teaching skills to improve their grasp and appreciation of their particular English topic, text or issue. I have enthusiasm, patience and a good sense of humour! I am able to create a productive rapport with students and am always happy to give detailed feedback to parents/carers as appropriate and required.
I teach from my home in Waterlooville but also do online lessons via Teams. I teach during the day and early evenings.
