Hi, I'm Jack. I have over 5 years' experience tutoring Maths and English.

I hold a First Class Master's degree in Mathematics from Durham University. I want to change the perception of maths being a boring or difficult subject. I make my classes as fun and engaging as possible and use practice questions to check progress regularly.

I also have a passion for learning and teaching languages. I am a patient and adaptable TEFL-qualified teacher. I have experience teaching university students and providing private one-to-one tuition. I also have over 5 years of experience working in business as a management consultant. Please feel free to get in touch and book your first lesson!

I provide English language tuition to students of all abilities. My lessons are fun and flexible and seek to maximise talking time. I prefer to use real-life material such as TED talks, reading materials from magazines and museum exhibitions, and discussions about current affairs topics, to help my students immerse themselves in the language in an authentic way. I am also happy to follow your chosen textbook and help with exam practice in order to work towards a formal qualification.

Tutoring Approach

Maths: I prefer to use lots of examples and sample exam papers so that you can learn by doing, rather than just being told how to do something. In my experience, this is the best way to learn, and is a much more engaging way of running the sessions.

TEFL: I like to use real-world material such as TED talks, reading materials from magazines and exhibitions, and discussions about current affairs topics, to help my students immerse themselves in the language in an authentic way.
