I'm Imogen, nice to meet you! I studied at the University of York - completing my biomedical science degree in 2022 and my masters in public health in 2023. I have since lived in York tutoring both online and in person, for maths and sciences.
I have a place to study at Cambridge medical school in September 2025, but until I am a student again, tutoring is my full time job! I decided to take up tutoring to continue the subjects I enjoy whilst applying for medicine. My interest in these subjects is more than just academic – I genuinely love understanding the world around us. I've always found joy in sharing this passion and seeing that "aha" moment when a concept clicks.
I tutor a mixture of online and in-person in York (either in students homes or local libraries).
My main subjects are GCSE maths and sciences, A-level biology and chemistry, and medicine entrance exams/interviews.
In fact a lot of my students have been prospective medical applicants themselves and I can help shed some light on the application process for them! I scored a top 1% score on the UCAT entrance exam two years in a row (3330 B1 in 2023, 3270 B1 in 2024) so please reach out if you are due to sit this soon.
I’m currently fully booked for weekday after-school sessions. However, I do still have some availability for online tuition during weekdays between 9 am - 4 pm. For weekend sessions, I still have some availability for online sessions throughout the day.
My tutoring style is all about tailored sessions, real-world examples, and a no-judgment zone for questions. Tutoring is not just about transferring knowledge; it's about building confidence and making learning an enjoyable experience. I am committed to tailored sessions, a friendly atmosphere, and a no-judgment approach . Some subjects can be hard to wrap your head around! My goal is to create a space where you feel inspired, confident, and ready to embrace learning.
I am quite flexible with either online or in-person tutoring in York as I am quite savvy with the buses - however for in-person tutoring please note I ask for a £6 travel fee on top of the session cost to cover the bus fares and the extra time required.
