I am a first-class Oxford graduate, a Yenching Scholar at Peking University, and an award-winning educator with ten years of teaching experience. I have a strong record of helping students gain offers from prestigious institutions, including Eton, Cambridge, UCL, and the City of London School for Girls.
Currently, I am writing a world history book for young readers, supported by a prestigious writer’s grant. This builds on my work as an independent researcher and science communicator, with over 100 hours of interviews with leading scholars and collaborations with research centres in the US, China, and Oxford. These experiences animate my teaching, bringing a uniquely broad and engaging perspective to every lesson.
With a degree in Psychology and ongoing training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), I offer students both academic and emotional support. My teaching style combines intellectual depth with creativity, helping students think critically, write effectively, and grow in confidence.
If you're seeking a tutor with academic rigour, creativity, and a deep commitment to student success, I’d be excited to work with you.

Critical thinking (e.g. school entrance exams)
I have ten years of experience providing bespoke private tuition both online and in-person, working independently as well as within broader pedagogical teams. I have extensive experience teaching humanities and basic science to students of all ages, from kindergarten through to adult learners.
I have also gained extensive teaching experience in formal academic settings across multiple countries, working with students from primary to university level. My roles have included curriculum design, classroom teaching, seminar facilitation, and educational leadership. My critical thinking curriculum has been purchased for repeated use at summer schools at the University of Oxford.
Below are some highlights:
Head Tutor — UK Summer School at the University of Oxford (St Peter’s College)
July – August 2024
I assisted in organizing the inaugural UK Summer School at St Peter’s College, University of Oxford, designed for students aged 15–18 from Maple Leaf Education Systems, China’s largest independent K–12 school network. In this role, I designed curricula for a team of Oxford-educated tutors and provided instructional support, ensuring high-quality delivery of the program.
Psychology Teacher — Lohja High School, Finland
October – December 2020
I worked full-time teaching psychology as part of the Finnish national baccalaureate curriculum to 144 students aged 16–18.
Teaching Assistant — Yenching Academy of Peking University
September 2019 – June 2020
As a TA at China’s leading interdisciplinary graduate program, I led seminars, assessed graduate-level essays, and acted as a key liaison between students and faculty. I received excellent feedback and was awarded the annual Honorary Teaching Assistant Award.
All my teaching is rooted in my training in philosophy and psychology. I tailor-make all my teaching to each student's pedagogical needs, finding the best ways to inspire their natural capacity for reason and awe.
