I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Maths was a core subject throughout my studies. I am now a civil engineer with more than 8 years’ experience in civil engineering. In my job I use maths on daily basis to carry out real life operations such as working out volumes, areas, angles, proportions. Relating formulas and equations to real life experience can help in understanding the purpose of learning these equations and their application in real life.
I have been teaching Maths to friends and relatives since I was in A-levels. I have helped them out with their homework, coursework and exam techniques. At university level and afterwards I have helped friends studying Civil Engineering degree with higher level maths courseworks and exams
My teaching approach is to try and simply maths in order to help understanding lessons and relate maths to real life examples. I will also work on exam techniques in order to improve passing grades. Since University level I have had a long causal teaching experience with friend and relatives in whom I have helped them throughout their exams, homework and courseworks.
Throughout my current career I always seek continuous improvement, increasing knowledge and accuracy level. This will be reflected in my teaching style. I will always try and drive the student to achieve high level and increase their understanding and knowledge.
