Online Chemistry and Biology Tutor

Hello, my name is Hugo. I am currently attending the University of St Andrews taking an undergraduate degree in Biology, taking modules in Chemistry and Sustainable Development.

I received 3A*s in Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science at A-level. I am a fluent Japanese speaker receiving a 9 at GCSE (although I am advantaged being half Japanese!)
I have a highly outgoing and friendly personality with a great passion for my subjects I have studied and will continue to study at University.

I am very outgoing and friendly with a great passion for the subjects I have studied.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Tutoring Experience

I have four years of tutoring experience, having been recommended by multiple college teachers. I find tutoring incredibly rewarding to see your tutee rapidly improve in their chosen subject.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is very dependent on my tutee. Seeing what is best suited is pivotal, whether that is targeting specific weaker areas of a subject or teaching exam technique. I will prepare a guided PowerPoint for the areas my tutee requires, or work for a textbook. Being a student, I have a nuanced understanding of how to answer questions to maximise marks.

Being very outgoing and friendly reflects in my tutoring style. I often use review mini-tests to go over weaker sections - this is especially relevant in Japanese.

Biology and Chemistry are definitely tricky subjects if you do not approach them in the correct manner, but by teaching and testing knowledge you will undoubtedly succeed in rapidly improving.

Finding the mistakes to improve on them is the most important thing.
