I am a qualified scientist (with a masters and a PhD) and have in-depth knowledge in biology and chemistry. I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor who takes pride in teaching and motivating budding medics and scientists to enable them to develop their interests and achieve academic success.

Tutoring Experience

I have been involved in teaching students at all levels from GCSE and A-level sciences to undergraduate and postgraduate bioscience to aid in their professional studies. GCSE and A-level students will particularly benefit from comprehensive tutoring that I can provide to enable them to progress and study competitive subjects in higher education.

I have successfully supported GCSE and A-level students undertaking dual or triple sciences.
I also tutor biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology and bioscience students at university level to improve their subject knowledge and to prepare them for module assessments and research projects.

Tutoring Approach

I usually hold an initial consultation with students and parents to gauge their level of knowledge. This enables me to come up with a comprehensive and personalised plan to target their specific educational needs. During lessons, I aim to create a stimulating environment to engage students to think critically and to work through problems in a logical manner, whilst still making them feel comfortable to ask questions and share their thoughts. This approach results in improved subject knowledge and self-confidence that encourages students to be more independent and competent learners.
