I am a SEND music specialist, tutoring children and young people with moderate-severe learning difficulties, as well as profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Tutoring Experience

I currently work as a music specialist at an SEND school full time, leading classes and 1-1 sessions with children aged 3-19 with complex needs (learning difficulties and physical difficulties). I have worked with young people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, developmental delay, Down’s Syndrome and other genetic disorders.

Tutoring Approach

My sessions are focused on the student’s musical preferences, and I will ensure that learning objectives are based on the music and instruments the student enjoys. I aim for sessions to be therapeutic as well as educational, prioritising goals such as communication, autonomy and emotional regulation.
