Hi, I’m Hollie! I’m an experienced English teacher who’s worked with students of all ages and abilities, from KS3 right up to A Level. I love helping learners build confidence in their skills, whether that’s preparing for exams, improving writing, or simply enjoying English a bit more. My lessons are supportive, engaging, and always tailored to each student’s needs. I believe every learner can succeed with the right guidance, and I aim to make that journey enjoyable as well as rewarding.

Tutoring Experience

I have over four years’ experience teaching English across KS3–5, both in the UK and internationally. I’ve taught GCSE, IGCSE, and A Level English Language and Literature, supporting students to achieve excellent results and grow in confidence.

Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve held leadership roles including Second in Department and Head of Year, which has given me strong experience in pastoral care, behaviour management, and supporting learners with a wide range of needs.

I pride myself on creating engaging, tailored lessons that challenge high achievers while also providing the right support for students who need to build confidence. My background means I’m equally comfortable helping with exam preparation, improving writing and analysis skills, or developing a love of reading and English more generally.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching is always child-centred, with lessons designed around each student’s individual needs, goals, and learning style. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel confident to take risks and make progress. Positive praise is at the heart of my approach – celebrating successes, no matter how small, helps to build motivation and self-belief.

I use a mix of clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and engaging activities to keep lessons focused and enjoyable. Whether it’s exam preparation, essay writing, or boosting general confidence in English, I tailor each session to help students feel challenged, supported, and proud of their achievements.
