Graduated from University of Manchester with a Master degree in Finance and love working with number, I am keen to use my spare time helping young children to get rid of their fear in Maths and I am confident that they will eventually find that learning Maths could actually be a good fun. Also, they could ask me any question from their Maths study materials and I will ensure that they grasp the concept firmly and build a solid fondation for their further education.
My rate does not include travel fee and is generally 50p per mile for a return journey, but it is negotiable.
I have been mentoring some of my colleagues at work and the general feedback I have got from them was that I managed to make some difficult concept easy for them to understand. I aim to do the same to my prospective students.
I learnt Maths from a very young age all the way till I was 17 in Hong Kong before I carried on my higher education up to Master level in UK. I noticed that Maths was taught quite differently (e.g. long-winded way) from my time in Hong Kong and have always been a great believer that British students would have benefited so much if they were made aware of the Hong Kong way to learn Maths. It is simpler and easier for students to understand. I therefore hope to be a pioneer to bring the concept to my students and help them to be the best of the best in UK as far as Maths is concerned.
Also, I am a firm believer that Maths should be taught by Maths specialist from as young as reception age. This is to ensure the solid foundation the students can build upon so they would not lose interest when the more complicated Maths are introduced to them. For this reason, I am especially welcome students from primary level, so that I can prepare them as much as possible to deal with the more difficult stuff when they get older.
