After 25 years' teaching languages, (20 of those in primary, secondary and FE environments in the Canterbury area), I know how stressful exams can be and enjoy helping pupils tackle GCSE French with confidence.
I have helped many people achieve GCSE French over the years and am very familiar with the best ways to do this. I have always enjoyed one to one lessons in addition to class teaching because it enables me to hone in on individual students' specific needs. Feedback on my lessons has always been very positive, with students reporting improved confidence and academic success. I currently teach part time and tutor from home, alongside raising my family.
I start by meeting the pupil with a parent to see what is required and whether I can help. This part is free, lasts about half an hour, and with no obligation. I ask pupils how they are getting on at school and any work we do in lessons links in with this as much as possible. In the first lessons, I help pupils create a personal programme, paying careful attention to their individual learning style, but also keeping to structured revision programme. I continually review and assess performance and set appropriate challenges for students. As well as vocabulary and grammar, I can help a lot with confidence-building, practice for oral exams, exam strategies and techniques. I am happy to talk further about what you need. My friendly, personable manner puts pupils at ease and we quickly establish a good working relationship.
