I am a fully qualified teacher of English with over 32 years experience. I have taught in Adult Education, UK Secondary Schools and a British International School in the Middle East.
I have recently retired from teaching full time.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching English at all levels, basic skills through to A level and undergraduate since 1992. I have run large faculties in successful secondary schools in the UK and overseas. My students all achieve a minimum of their target grade, with most exceeding this in both Language and Literature.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring is personalised for each tutee’s individual needs. An overview is taken, assessing existing skills and knowledge before tailoring a programme designed specifically for them. I liaise with school where appropriate to ascertain the student’s current working at level, their target grade and their most recent in school assessment.
My preferred method is online teaching, 1:1 but would also consider teaching very small groups (2-3).
I offer discount for 5 or more lessons booked in advance.
