Home Tuition for Music in Greenwich

My names Harry, I'm a second year music student studying at Goldsmiths University of London and I'm loving it. I play the guitar, drums, bass and I sing (although my first instrument is Guitar) I achieved my grade 8 when I was 14, since then I've been teaching to people of all ages, from as young as 4 to as young as 64! I can teach any style, from acoustic, to jazz, to blues, to metal. I'm 20 years old, and have been playing music since I was 10, sharing my knowledge and experience is something I love to do. Moving to London has helped me gain more students and I'm loving it, seeing something "click" with a student is a moment I always remember. Other than performing in bands around London and the UK, I enjoy surfing, cooking and running.

Tutoring Experience

I started teaching a friend when I was 14, showing them the basics and effectively reloading the information I learned from my lessons. As I gained experience, and the word spread around my hometown that I was teaching, my number of pupils got bigger. I now teach professionally around London to anyone who's interested, and I aim towards the style of music or playing that is desired, whether it be jazz, rock, country or acoustic singer-songwriter.

Tutoring Approach

Throughout the first few weeks of learning the guitar, it is essential to learn the basics which I teach to every pupil the same way. Learning the parts of guitar and it's functions, how to hold it, how to hold the pick and form chords. I also depending on the student's aims, sometimes head down a more classical route and introduce music notation in the first weeks of learning how to play the guitar. After the basics have been covered, it's time to learn some cheesy songs! After this, we then move on to tasks more tailored to the students aims.
